Imagine a completely gutted bathroom from the 1950’s. Now imagine that gutted bathroom was gutted for 8 months and became even further ruined. That is exactly what happened to Steve and Amy Miller of Rossford Ohio.

The Miller Family live in a beautiful riverfront property along the majestic Maumee River in a house steeped in history. The home they occupy was home to an American mobster during the 1920s and 30s, complete with all the amenities anyone in that time could ever want.

One thing the former mobster had over nearly a century ago that Steve and Amy were lacking was two functioning bathrooms. See the couple called an unlicensed contractor who gave them a quote, started on the some work then realized he was in above his head and left… with the money. Distraught by the situation and now financially hurting, the couple waited 8 months to call another contractor. The Millers said they choose us at Arnold’s because of our massive amount of advertising, affiliations and awards. The family figured if anyone would do it (and they thought that was a big IF) it would be Arnold’s.

When our contractor, Michael Cousino, got the job he could tell it was going to be a big one. See after the floor was gutted and left in that situation, it began to deteriorate past it's already bad state. It had gotten so bad that the floors were uneven by a full 1 ¾”! The homeowners wanted a beautiful bathroom, but still weren’t wanting to pay that much because of their previous issue with their last long- lost contractor. However, Mike was able to make a miracle out of a disaster and even talked the homeowners into getting the work they truly needed done, done.

First our contractor, Michael Cousino, started by fixing the floor, which was especially challenging. The basement was partially finished so he couldn’t work from the bottom up; he could only work from the top to level out the floors. It was hard work but somehow he did it. Michael got those floors in near perfect shape to a flatness of only a ⅛ inch unevenness (because of a door frame issue from the last contractor). When asked one of his favorite parts of the project, Mike answered “the family” and stated it was “because of how thankful they were.” He told me “when Amy walked into that bathroom and saw she could walk on it again you could see her tear up. She was crying with joy”.

After the floor, Contractor Cousino went to work on the tile within the bathroom to bring the room to life. Mike went and did everything by hand, including a detailed, beautiful mosaic in the shower. He said one of the most tedious parts was getting the finishing touches right. Doing the caulk work right and not cutting corners by gluing and cementing on the same day which he said is bad workmanship, but unfortunately very common in the trade. All this was done not with resilient acrylic but with precious and fragile marble. One mistake could be very costly.

The whole ordeal and renovation took a total of 3 weeks; meaning the homeowners had been without a 2nd bathroom for nearly 9 months, a scary thought for a full family with a teenage daughter. Because of past encounters with contractors, the Miller Family’s expectations were a little south of low. The family just wanted somewhere to shower and use the restroom with a floor they could walk on. What they got was all that and a whole lot more, a beautifully and efficiently built bathroom that will last them for many years to come.

The Mrs. witnessed our commercial between 13 ABC News Broadcasts. The couple pondered about remodeling their bathroom for some time and decided to give us a call. Chad Thompson went out to inspect their original bathroom and discuss their vision of their future bathroom. After showing multiple options to the homeowners, they finally constructed the perfect bathroom. 

We removed their old worn out bathtub and replaced it with a new Acrylic Cascade Quarry Topaz Tub. We installed a smooth Copper Ridge wall surround equipped with 2 Trinity Corner Caddys, Posi Chateau ORB Hardware and a Semi frame-less Bronze Shower Door. Reziliant Rolled Flooring, a new toilet, sink and counter top of the existing vanity we also installed. 

Charles F was in dire need of a new roof. Not only did the roof need to be replaced due to old age, but he was looking to increase the curb appeal while still using durable material. Charles was very honest and was getting multiple quotes from different companies. However, he researched the products we use as directed by our Product Specialist Rick and was incredibly impressed and put his faith in AHI to complete the installation.

After the remeasure was completed and all of the documents were finalized, we performed a complete tear-off. Once all of the old worn-out material was removed, we installed all brand new roofing components including but not limited to new ventilation products.
